Saturn in Scorpio | Uranus in Aries | Neptune in Pisces

Saturn in Scorpio
In 2012, Saturn will move into Scorpio, the sign of sex, death, rebirth, and the Unseen, where it will remain until sometime in 2015. The last time Saturn The Authoritarian  entered in Scorpio in late 1982, Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, followed it into the sign in 1983, and the combination of the two signs wreaked havoc with accepted sexual behavior across the world. By the time Saturn left the sign in late 1985 (Pluto remained there until the mid-1990s), the damage had been done. In 1982 AIDS was named and categorized, and organizations were created in support of AIDS patients, but at the same time Saturn began to restrict the Scorpio sexuality of many, and led many gays back into the closet. Pluto entering Scorpio contributed significantly to the entire AIDS crisis. However, while discussing Saturn in Scorpio we are looking at authorities and regulations around sexual behavior and hidden behavior, such as needle use. Scorpio is also related to surgeries, blood exchange, and other contributors to the AIDS crisis, including unknown and secret factors.

Will we have a similar crisis beginning in 2012?  Pluto will not be in it's home sign of Scorpio, so it may not turn to be a sexual crisis as much as it may just be an inhibitor. It's hard to say.  Pluto was related to the fatalities and the deadly aspect of the disease, so we may not be looking at a deadly disease that is transmitted in Plutonian  fashion, yet it may still be related to sex, blood, surgery, or needle use. However, Saturn in Pluto will be in mutual reception, in each other's signs.  So this may go deeper than AIDS, or it may be more deeply hidden or repressed, or the cause will be more deeply hidden. On the other hand, there may actually be hope for a cure for AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases during this period, especially since Uranus will be in Aries, a position of discoveries and inventions. The problem will be getting the Aries side and the Scorpio side to work together, as they are inconjunct one another on the zodicac wheel.  They do have Mars in common, ruler of Aries and co-ruler of Scorpio, and any advancement could come through war or the military.

Scorpio is also about buried treasure and the investments of others. Unemployment was at it's highest while Saturn was in that sign in 1982, yet the largest corporate merger occurred just after Saturn exited Scorpio in late 1985.  President Reagan signed legislation that was meant to assure that the Social Security system would not become bankrupt while Saturn was in that sign. Will we see an attempt to change or renew this legislature while Saturn is in Scorpio? Saturn is a planet that is related to law in the sense of regulations and rulings, and Scorpio represents reform. But which way will it go?  The last time Saturn was in that sign, gender became an issue a woman was potentially poised to take on an important  position in the U.S.  government. Geraldine Ferraro became the first woman chosen as a Vice Presidential running mate for a U.S. Presidential candidate. Will we see a female Vice President or President elected in 2012? By then Saturn in Scorpio will be trine Neptune in Pisces, and there is a strong feminine component to those signs.

Scorpio rules the masses, in war, in famine, and in death. In the '80s Bob Geldof took on the mantle of organizing Live Aid, a concert for famine relief, while Saturn was in Scorpio,. Will we find ourselves repeating drives to help famine or other causes on a different scale? Who will we rally around? Scorpio is a powerful sign, and it's drive to succeed should be used positively, as Bob Geldof once did, or it can be corrupted by tainted criminal or unseen sources. Will someone be poised to help the masses, or to take advantage of them? Saturn in Scorpio may put corrupt people in a position of authority if we aren't careful. And with Saturn in mutual reception with Pluto, it's up to us to "police" them, before they "police" us.  As Pluto is already in Capricorn, this has already begun to some extent. However, we really do have to keep an eye on elections in 2012. Let's hope that the evolved version of Scorpio leads the way.

By late 2011 Saturn will trine Neptune in the air signs of Libra and Aquarius respectively, just before they exit those signs and enter watery Scorpio and Pisces in 2012.  They may appear balanced and fair, just and humane, and strong in their convicitions at the end of 2011. However, as the Saturn/Neptune trine moves into water in 2012 it may be difficult to discern where compassion ends and weakness begins. Even with a positive aspect such as a trine, these two planets are not on the best of terms. Via the trine in water, Neptune may dissolve some of Saturn's achievements, and Saturn will partially block the sympathies and helping hand of Neptune in Pisces. Yet for the most part, this trine may aid our efforts. Many people may need relief, and this trine may represent relief efforts, yet there might not be enough motivation on some people's behalf to succeed. Many may be destitute, yet help may not be funneled in a focused way, and may disperse and vanish too quickly. At least there will be a more genuine effort to deal topics that are integral to our life force and questions of existence, as well as an effort to understand literal depths such as the ocean floor, which will be accomplished more easily after Saturn leaves Libra and enters Scorpio. Whereas Neptune in Pisces may poison and exterminate sea life, at the same time it may attempt to heal the ocean world, and there may be an effort undertaken to "mine" the sea or explore deep water to feed those in need during shortages. Perhaps we can continue the  search for fossil or alternative fuels in a less destructive way. We can be led through prayer or through our higher selves to a place where beauty still exists, via Neptune in Pisces, while Saturn permits an easier flow.

Uranus in Aries
Although Uranus retrograded back into Pisces in 2010, it  also made it's first attempt to enter Aries  in the summer of that year. It returns to Aries in March of 2011, preceeded by Jupiter for several weeks. This aspect becomes more tense by the late spring and early summer of 2011, when Uranus moves into a square with Pluto, and Saturn moves retrograde towards a T-square with these planets that never comes to pass but is felt to a degree. We are about to face several years of Uranus in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn.  Uranus in Aries brings sudden and unexpected events. It will be in effect until sometime in 2018, when Uranus enters Taurus.

Uranus' entrance into the fire sign of Aries in the Summer of 2010 started off with a bang. The Saturn and Uranus opposition that had represented so much change in recent years  found itself polarized  in Cardinal signs. As these two planets neared the cusps of the Cardinals, overlaying the Midheaven and Nadir of the United States chart wheel,  the Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico occurred. As Pluto was creating a T-square while opposing the Venus/Jupiter conjunction of the United States in watery Cancer, this event took place in waters dear to the hearts of it's citizens. The disaster was not under any semblance of control until Saturn and Uranus were both opposite one another in late July of 2010, while Mars joined Saturn in Libra. Astrologically, this had the appearance of an actual attack on our shores, and as retrograde Pluto in Capricorn formed a cardinal T-square with the opposition, it is quite likely that this was an act of sabotage. However, Pluto works undercover, so we may never know how much responsibility was BPs, and who all the responsible parties were. Although Uranus reversed itself into Pisces via retrograde for several months, it is preparing to return to Aries. So what can we expect when Uranus does return to Aries in March of 2011? One thing, sudden fires, explosions, or bursts of energy, unexpected events in space, and attacks without warning may become more common while Uranus is in this sign. But so will people's outspoken reactions to what they perceive as governements dragging their feet or taking their freedom. Uranus in Aries is spoiling for a fight when frustrations mount. No government will please them except one chosen for themselves. However, the problem is that Aries is about the individual, and sharing or uniting will be difficult.

Although Saturn and Uranus continue in opposite cardinal signs through most of 2012, they were only in orb of the actual opposition in 2010. Cardinal signs are the initiators, and introduce what has not been before.  In 2010, with Saturn's  traditional role authority in Libra, the sign of partnerships,  we saw the U.S. government and state governments strive to rule in favor of more tolerance towards gay marriage and other non-traditional relationships. While Uranus touching upon Aries provided the impetus for change, we also saw a restructuring of these roles in traditional institutions such as the military. In June of 2011 Uranus retrograde will come close to one last opposition with Saturn, and perhaps we will have another opportunity to strive for fairness in marriage laws.  Even when Uranus and Saturn are not opposite, they will remain in opposite signs for some time, well into 2012. How will Uranus in Aries affect Saturn in Libra?  As Libra is related to justice, and Saturn is related to rules, Uranus may reinvent it all in Aries; the sign of new birth. As a matter of fact, there could even be a revolution in how children are conceived for couples of all kinds during the duration of this transit, including genetic intervention and cloning advancements. There may be a revolution or discovery regarding new growth in general, such as seeds, embryos, and infants. Seeding technology for farmers, seeding in the skies, and new kinds of energy or "rays" are possible. There may be many changes in our legal system, and contracts may be thrown out. Judges, justices and lawyers may be in for a restructuring of the way that they practice, or they may also be thrown out. Courts and judiciary systems are already being affected.

Trying to understand where we are in relation to the past may not make much sense while Uranus is in Aries, and with Pluto continuing to square Uranus from Capricorn, there is quite a bit of explosive energy in the air. Aries is about the Self, our own identities and bodies, and our own survival.  The last time Uranus was in Aries was during the Great Depression, when people truly had to learn to fend for themselves. Aries represents Warrior and Pioneer energy, and Uranus represents rebellion and sudden circumstances. Although Saturn in Libra (peace and agreement) may try to force treaties while it is still in effect through most of 2012, Saturn will seem oppressive to one of both parties, and there may not be agreement. Uranus in Aries may activate anything from radical protests to all out war. There may also be a revolution in the kinds of weapons used, or a new technological aspect to them. Heat, fire or electricity, as well as alternative energy, may be a part of this.  Inventions and new technology may relate to the military, with an emphasis on missiles. Strikes may be more direct and immediate, with fewer questions asked. Aries is very "me first", and it will only be slowed down somewhat by Saturn in Libra's tenet of fairness. Uranus in Aries is not about listening to the other side. You may see leaders come up out of nowhere who have no desire to consider others. Leaders and competitors may take chances and risks that were previously not taken. Some of these people will possess great courage, and some will just be trying to attract attention. There will be no room for laziness or indecisiveness, and the luxury of spare time to which many of us have grown accustomed may disappear.  We may find ourselves "pioneers" again, as people regain that sense of striking out for themselves, along with a sense of innovation.

With Uranus in Aries, sports competitions may become more extreme and risky as safety requirements get lost in the shuffle. More weapons could become available to the public, and they may be used as substitutes for debate more frequently.  Political correctness will eventually become a thing of the past, as Uranus in Aries will not censor itself. Let's hope that the positive development of all of this energy will be honesty, although tact may fall by the wayside politically and otherwise. Direct behavior and forthright challenges will be the rule of the day. Aries is related to the military, to aggression, attacks, and shows of strength. It is related to enterpreneurs. competitors,  and people striking out on their own. As this position is also related to everything that is fresh and new, there will be a feeling of coming out of a fog, clearing out excess baggage and starting "spring cleaning". This position of Uranus is  ripe for  aggressive acts of revolution, but sweeping change may occur even without such acts. Aries is a sign of Faith, and Uranus is truly inspired, so if we remain positive during times of change we may attract positive outcomes.

With Pluto in Capricorn squaring Uranus, we may see underground or earth shattering weapons testing or usage, or perhaps shifts within the earth such as earthquakes. As a matter of fact, the summer of 2010 had that appearance astrologically because of the T-square between Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto overlaying significant parts of the U.S. chart. The event that occurred was the BP oil disaster. While Uranus in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn for the next several years, mountains may fall or be destroyed in a search for Uranian energy. Anything with height or stature may lose that height and stature.  As Aries is the first fire sign, fire or volcanic activity could show up in different parts of the world, as well as increased lightning strikes and power outages. As Aries is often also related to ice, the icy aspect of the weather could take on a new appearance in the world.   As Capricorn rules governmental structures as well as physical, earthly ones,  heads of governments and corporations could be endangered. Governments may topple, and  there may be more big corporate or national takeovers. Those with world power may lose it over the next decade, including more of the unseen manipulators behind the scenes. This transit may be the great equalizer. Governments may respond by orchestrating secret security and policing strategies, and the police and the military will be restructured.  Between now and  2018 we may see a military draft again in the United States and other places.   Although none of this sounds like good news, there will be notable  revolutionary figures and leaders beginning to appear over the next couple of years. Some of these leaders may be quite charismatic, and will not be pushovers. Perhaps we will see the birth of a new type of leader, and the disintegration of methods and systems that are no longer working. The best we can hope for with Uranus in Aries is the clearance of a passageway to New Birth.

Neptune in Pisces

Although the planet Neptune approached its own sign of Pisces in 2010, it does not enter the sign until April of 2011, and will retrograde back into Aquarius that summer. By February of 2012 Neptune will be officially in Pisces, and will remain there for many years.

sunsetWhile Neptune last moved from inspirational Aquarius into sensitive, otherworldly  Pisces in the mid-1800s, the Neo-romanticists who would one day write in the style of Neptune’s dreamier fantasies were born,  as well as the neo-impressionists and post impressionists who would one day grow to illustrate and paint the worlds dreams. Perhaps the children born in the upcoming transit will also be the ones to usher in such beauty. The 1800's transit of Neptune represented the early days of of petroleum distillation, while railroads increased in popularity. By the the end of this transit through  Pisces, the U. S. was on the verge of  Civil War and many other countries were overthrowing their governments.

Interestingly enough, in the mid-1800s Charles Darwin began to gain more recognition as “The Origin of Species” was published, and Neanderthal fossils were discovered. It is possible that we may uncover more “missing links” or truths about our origins during this next transit of Neptune through it’s own sign, and we may also find previous assumptions were incorrect. As Neptune moves back and forth between Aquarius and Pisces for awhile, we may find life on or from other planets and worlds. Don’t be surprised at what we discover in our oceans, or by the changes that may occur in them and around them. More people may be employed by groups, companies, or military installations by the sea or on the seas. Unfortunately, we may have a great oil spill (as of this writing, Neptune's pressure on the cusp of Pisces in 2010 has already contributed to the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico) or we may have much greater pollution concerns than we do presently. We might not possess the power to change much of anything, as we learn to let go of ambitions and expectations.

The following years of Neptune in Pisces (Neptune continues in the sign until 2024/2025) will bring healthcare challenges such as the spread of disease that will not respond to drugs produced by pharmaceutical companies. Perhaps the solution will be found in ancient traditional healing methods, and holistic, alternative forms, governments permit this while Pluto is in Capricorn. Anything that can spread, will spread. Water will flow into places that were once dry, but so will gas, radiation, so will bacteria, and anything contagious. Part of this is a result of widespread poverty and lack of scrutiny, and rules or procedures that were in place falling away. Boundaries fall, and our sense of who we are and why we are here changes dramatically. For many of us this is a positive move away from the material objects, and Neptune in otherworldly Pisces begs us to seek our Higher Selves and/or go within.

Realities and facts will no longer stand up to scrutiny, and we will question them. Nothing will remain secure for long, so we will learn that we are more than our third dimensional selves. Over many years, we may learn to alter our experience through altering expectations and shifting realities. Escapism, fantasy, or prayer and devotion will be a part of our lives in some way, as our values begin to shift. We might seek escape from a world of sacrifice, illness, or confusion that causes us to feel isolated or imprisoned. We may have to learn to use vibrational, energetic or ancient traditional healing when the standard allopathic healing is not widely available. We may begin to understand what Angels are, and communicate more easily with The Other Side, and with Godsource. We are too far removed from the previous experience of this transit to really understand what will be.
